The Office of the Chairperson is the highest leadership role within Embakasi Ranching Company Ltd. The Chairperson oversees the strategic direction of the company, safeguards shareholders’ interests, and ensures compliance with legal, operational, and ethical standards. This office serves as the voice of all shareholders and is tasked with representing the organization’s vision, integrity, and accountability to the public.
From inception to the present, our chairpersons have played critical roles in shaping Embakasi Ranching’s legacy—navigating complex land matters, issuing titles, leading mediation, and building trust across generations.

Strategic Leadership
The Chairperson sets the vision and long-term direction of Embakasi Ranching Company, guiding the Board and Management in fulfilling the company’s mandate to protect shareholder interests, manage land assets, and deliver value through responsible governance.
Stakeholder Representation
Serving as the official voice of the company, the Chairperson represents Embakasi Ranching in engagements with shareholders, government authorities, legal institutions, and the broader public. This ensures transparency, credibility, and alignment with public policy.
Oversight and Accountability
The Chairperson ensures that all company operations, including title issuance, dispute resolution, and land management, are conducted with integrity, fairness, and full compliance with legal and shareholder obligations.

Lucy Nyokabi Mathenge (2018 – Present)
First Female Chairperson & Lease Champion
The current and first female Chairperson of Embakasi Ranching Company Ltd, Lucy Nyokabi Mathenge has led the organization since 2018. Under her leadership, over 20,000 leases have been successfully processed and issued to shareholders. She has championed transparency, shareholder services, and strong collaboration with the Ministry of Lands, culminating in presidential lease distribution events between 2029 and 2025.
